The oldest-established run in our calendar, the 27th East Anglian Run, was not blessed with the good weather we've come to expect at our events. Nevertheless, 25 riders decided to brave the rain for this year's run. As always, you can see pictures of it on the Iceni CAM Website.
The first of the 'established' runs of the season, the Radar Run attracted over 50 rides and beautiful sunny weather. As always, the Iceni CAM team was there to record the event and there are pictures of it on the Iceni CAM Website.
We're pleased to see that there is interest in our club from younger members. With the minimum age for riding a moped being 16, this is an ideal introduction to the Vintage Vehicle Movement for young enthusiasts. The likelihood of having under-18s taking part in our events has made us realilise that it would be sensible to have a Child Protection Policy in place. The policy is available on our Documents page.
The rally season started here! 28 riders turned up for this ride on 8th March - our thanks go to Ralph and Alex for organising another successful event in the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire area. There are pictures of it on the Iceni CAM Website.
With 97 machines taking part, the Mince Pie Run was the biggest event we've staged so far. See pictures of it on the Iceni CAM Website. A committee meeting was held at the lunch stop on this run; the minutes of the meeting are available on the Documents page.
We had to get more t-shirts made, so we've increased the range of sizes. More info below.
Kneel's Wheels brought the club's first year to its conclusion; it was at last year's Kneel's Wheels that we relaunched the EACC. The weather was a bit wet this year - but it stopped raining just before we set off on the run and we even saw the sun later in the day. There are some photos of the event on the Iceni CAM Website.
The AGM went smoothly - so that means we now have a proper committee and an approved set of rules. The membership fees were increased by 50p.
It was also agreed at the AGM that we would join the FBHVC... so we've done that. The minutes of the meeting are available on the documents page.
There's more information about other EACC events on our Events Page.
The EACC badge has arrived! But not just the EACC badge - there are embroidered badges, a rider's badge and key-rings too. See below for more info.
The EACC has been approved by DVLA for the validation of V765 forms. These are the forms you use in the UK to re-register an old vehicle while retaining its original registration mark. The EACC can also issue dating certificates for registering machines with an 'age-related' registration mark. For more information about what this all means - have a look at our Registrations page.
We were visited at the Radar Run by Emma Merwood from Footman James Insurance. All East Anglian Cyclemotor Club members qualify fot discounts on insurance from Footman James. Read more about it on the Insurance page.
The East Anglian Cyclemotor Club, originally formed in 1981, has returned.
Club membership is open to all. Although the club's title is East Anglian, there are no geographical restrictions on who can join. We now have members in Avon, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cumbria, Devon, Dorset, Durham, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Lothian, Merseyside, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Northern Ireland, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex, Sussex, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, Yorkshire, Australia, Canada, Eire, Portugal and the People's Republic of China. We have set the UK membership fee at just £3.00. You can find out more about joining the EACC here.
We also offer the option of joining on-line using PayPal.
We've made excellent progress at developing the club during its first year. We have produced five newsletters and we have drawn up a set of rules, the bank account is up and running, we're insured, have a full programme of events and have elected a committee.
Not only that, but we've also negotiated an insurance scheme for club members with Footman James and we've been approved by DVLA for validating V765 forms... not bad for the first year.
We have been surprised at how quickly the news of our club has spread and at how quickly new members are joining. We'd also like to thank you for all your good wishes and other comments you've made.
Not only do we have a programme of runs and meetings, but there are also several interesting ideas about other events being proposed. See the Events page for more details.
Our newsletter is called "The MAC" and the fifth edition went out to all members at the beginning of December. (If you're wondering where the name MAC comes from - have a look in our glossary.) We're keeping the newsletter simple (We recommend you to try Iceni CAM Magazine for all the things we don't cover in our newsletter) but we've started a little feature called Spotted where we pick on one or two interesting machines we've seen at recent events. If you're not a member and are wondering what it's like - the first four newsletters are available on-line in the Moped Archive.
We've just got in a second batch of the EACC T-shirts and taken the opportunity to increase the range of sizes. We now have sizes M, L, XL, XXL & XXXL, all at £9 each. Call Danny on 01473 659607 or to get one. And, while we're on the subject of regalia, what about EACC badges?

The 'standard' version is a 28mm cold enamel badge in maroon and gold with a brooch fastening. We also have a 'Rider's Badge' in black, red and silver; this one is 25mm diameter and also has brooch fastening. But that's not all...

... we have embroidered badges too. These are in red and blue and are available in three versions: with a black, silver or white background. They are 74mm (a shade under 3") in diameter. All types of badge are £2.50 each plus 50p for UK postage (any quantity). If you'd like any of these, send a cheque (payable to EACC) to Andrew at 7 Unity Road, Stowmarket, IP14 1AS, or Mark at 52b Levington Lane, Bucklesham, Ipswich, IP10 0DZ. They'll also be on sale at our events, of course.
And, if that wasn't enough...

...you could also have an EACC key ring. These are only £1 (plus 50p for UK postage).

Although the revived club is just over a year old, we can trace our roots back to 1981. We have revived the original EACC logo that Andrew Roddham designed 26 years ago. To continue the 'retro' look, our membership application form is also based on an EACC membership renewal form from the 1980s.
There is more about the early days of the EACC in The Moped Archive.
Enquiries about the EACC should be sent to .
